Great Job
December 5 2006

First, let me thank the hardest working volunteers in high school football. You continue to go above and beyond to make the CWTD Club one of the leading public school booster clubs in the state. Thanks also to the school administration and coaching staff, who sincerely care about the team and the well being of each of our sons. Next, congratulations to the 2006 Golden Eagles. You came together as a team, fought through adversity, and continued to improve week to week. You took the Team of One motto to heart and in the process, learned lessons which will benefit you for a lifetime. To those of you who are returning, remain focused and continue to work hard. To the Class of 2007, you guys are the best. You stepped up as seniors to lead the team to a championship season. You have given me and my fellow '07 dads, a lifetime of great memories. We lived and died on every play. Finally, great job Son. I could not be more proud of the way you performed this year. You worked hard, played with intensity, and displayed good sportsmanship (most of the time).

Coaches: Thank you for your endless effort and dedication. You set a great example for our sons (and daughters!) of the kind of commitment it takes to be the best.Touchdown Club: Mike and Denise, John and Lisa, John and Katherine, Ron, Rick and Peggy, Jeff, Kathy, Karen, Rex, Randy, and Rebecca: you are the backbone of the CW football machine! Thank you for all you do for our team and our family. You made this season very special for us. We also want to thank all the parents for your thoughts, gestures, and prayers... it's working!Players: congratulations on an outstanding season! You are all champions on and off the field. Your hard work ethic will carry with you always. Thank you for always remembering Caleb and for keeping him a part of the team. The cards, hospital visits, magazines, gifts, phone calls, and pats on the back were more helpful than you'll ever know. We are grateful to you all and very proud of this team.Seniors: you were the big brothers we always hoped our son would have his junior year. You boys showed mature leadership, friendship, and you always encouraged your teammates. It's been a great pleasure getting to know all of you this season. You've left some huge shoes to fill. Best wishes to you all.

A Magical Season
December 6 2006

To the Clovis West Golden Eagles: thanks for such a magical season. We enjoyed watching every minute of every game. You were such a unified team that seemed to will itself to win under some pretty adverse conditions. You won so many great games! Clovis East got you last week, but you always played fair and with dignity. That sets you apart from many other teams. To the Clovis West Varsity Offensive Line: I thanked Coach Harding one time for being so patient with you. I told him he spends so much time with you and that you are always sweaty and dirty, and that it must have been hard. He said "It's my pleasure. I can't get enough of those guys." You are the unsung heroes that grind it out each week but never get your name announced. Thanks for hanging in there, for getting cleated after every play, taking those helmets to the ribs, and lifting all those weights! To the Clovis West Football Coaches: I would personally like to thank each and every coach involved in the Clovis West football program, from Coaches Zimmer and Quinn to Coaches Harding and Hartigan. The life lessons you taught my son are invaluable. I have seen him grow in character due to your example and guidance. He now possesses discipline, responsibility, determination, mental strength, and most of all, humility. Chris Ewbank missed one practice in four long years and that was for his grandfather's funeral. He went to practice no matter what. The fact that he maintained that level of responsibility to his team exemplifies all the qualities that YOU taught him. I can't thank you enough for that. His life will be better because of all of you!To our Clovis West Touchdown Club President: Mike Tatham, you are the President Extraordinaire. Major thanks for all you have done for this team and its parents. You are simply the best. To our Pre-Game Meal Coordinators: Katherine Sullivan and Kathy Urgesi - what would those boys have done without you? You organized dinners for them that were perfect. That had to have helped them win so many games. And the fact that you did it week in and week out, when other circumstances in your lives would have stopped other women, is unbelievable. I know our players, as well as their mothers, appreciated it so much. There is one player I think who appreciated it the most though - Number 49!Sharon Ewbank

Unbelievable Season
December 8 2006

To all CW Varsity Golden Eagles:Thank you for an unbelievable season. We knew you were a special team after the come from behind victory in the firs game of the year against Liberty of Bakersfield.Every game following, you continued to build momentum through focus, dedication, and teamwork. The loss to Madera was unfortunate as the players were not allowed to determine the outcome. The loss to CE was just another game, as you were already champions when you took the field in the eyes of every proud Golden Eagle parent in the Stadium. That's how it will always be remembered.

Sincerely,
Brian Ewbank
Proud Parent of #51

A Team of One Creates One Heck of a Season
December 12 2006

I am so very proud of the young men who represented Clovis West on and off the football field this year. These boys were amazing. Their spirit, dedication, sense of humor, friendliness, focus, and work ethic were second to none. Dignity and honor are the two words uppermost in my mind. There wasn't one time when I was not proud of the way they represented themselves, their family, and their school and I feel honored to be a small part of this moment in their lives. Good things are coming to these young men. Every moment of every day you spent as a member of this special team will enrich your life in countless ways. You have enriched mine.Parents, you are truly amazing. The Clovis West family support is nothing short of unbelievable. If anything was ever needed, someone would step up and produce. Mike Tatham, you should be bronzed and put up in the CW front office, right next to the Range Rider and Golden Spur Trophy. Such a hard worker who made sure everything turned out to be a class act. Lesly, you are a Goddess with all the paperwork and money you had to handle..., so much time spent on the team's behalf. Rex Lysdahl, I want to be you when I grow up. I know there were numerous others who spent countless hours on behalf of not only our boys, but the entire coaching staff; fund raising, dinners, lunches, breakfasts, pizza, treats, t-shirts..., the list is never ending.Coaches..., what can I say? We have THE BEST coaching staff in the state of California. From the Freshman program up to the Director of Football Jim Hartigan. I get worn out just watching all of you plan, prepare, present, coach, learn, watch, communicate, and teach. Most of you do all of this while raising your own families, holding down full time jobs, and trying to keep your wife rested and happy. Amazing. "Thank you" doesn't even begin to tell you how much you are appreciated. The C-Dub Community is lucky to have each and every one of you. Thanks for the memories.
